When you think of a family vacation to Orlando, you think Disney and Universal, right? And we have definitely done both of those, so this summer, we wanted to change it up. You can check out everything in video form, from the Reunion resort to Discovery Cove and Sea World here:
Let’s start with our resort choice:
Reunion Resort
As mentioned above, we opted to stay at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee. It’s super close to both major theme parks, if that interest you, and it apparently has world-class golfing. Idgaf about that, but maybe you do. If so, hit it up, my man.
For our first day, we checked into our room and then hung out at the pool with water slide and major splash pad and lazy river right there on the resort property! Swings at the lazy river-side bar and a splash pad even my 14-year-old had a blast on!
These sunnies are Foster Grant–and that is linked directly to this exact pair, and they are only $20! And here’s the swimsuit–it comes in even more patterns than this. I am wearing a medium.
I said room, but we had a full-size apartment at the resort (referred to as a villa at Reunion), and it was awesome for our party of 5 (me, my son, Happily Hughes and her two kiddos under 6)–3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full-size kitchen, living room, and balcony overlooking a pool.
You can check out the floor plan we had HERE — it was sooo nice.
Since there’s a kitchen, we brought all our own snacks, like protein bars, crackers, chocolate milk for the kids, and c4 On the Go for me and Jess :)
Fun fact:
Malachi took a LOT of the action footage on this trip, and some of the wide-angle scene setting images from this trip with our new camera!
And just LOOK at this property!
We had dinner at Reunion‘s rooftop restaurant, Eleven. The Caprese appetizer was especially tasty. Oh, and the STEAK.
Eleven’s drink menu as a particularly interesting specialty section they call Modern Interpretations which are new twists on classic cocktails, as well as a Historic Cocktails listing with all your tried and true favorites, like the Old-Fashioned Jess ordered.
We watched a storm roll in via this grand window in the main dining room, which was quite lovely.
We did a lovely, quiet breakfast at Forte, on property, before heading out on our adventures! My kiddo even grabbed a newspaper from the lobby and read some articles while enjoying his breakfast.
Followed by a second cup of coffee on the rooftop, poolside, lounging in the warm sunshine with a fab review of the resort.
And then we were OFF on our Orlando adventures…Discovery Cove & SeaWorld!
