Last night, I was given the opportunity to tour the soon-to-open, brand-spanking-new Hotel at Avalon, the newest member of the Marriott Autograph Collection right outside of Atlanta in Avalon.
Located at the head of Avalon Boulevard, this 330 room hotel is also a convention center. The Hotel at Avalon is filled with art and beautiful aesthetics, not to mention the coolest craft bourbon collection (compliments of South City Kitchen’s Whiskey + Vine program, but more on that later).
We got to tour the rooms, suites, pool deck, convention rooms, attached Starbucks (because, have you ever attended a convention? Starbucks = necessary), the almost-but-not-yet-finished in-house restaurant, South City Kitchen (think Refined Southern dining) and, my FAVORITE, the South City Kitchen BAR (I just really love craft food & drinks, alright?!)…
I honestly could have photographed for hours at the Hotel at Avalon, but I didn’t have much time, aaaaand, while it’s almost complete, it won’t be 100% til the January 20th Grand Opening Gala benefitting North Fulton Community Charities.
The art everywhere is so beautiful. I enjoyed paying attention to my surroundings to see what each new hallway and alcove would hold.
This horse reminds me of one of the pieces from Cirque du Soleil Luzia.
All the best hotels pay special attention to even the details:
Those ombre curtains, though…
There’s something fun around every corner at the hotel at Avalon.
The room views from the Hotel at Avalon are awesome. But I am also a sucker for city lights at night. And the MOOD!
And here is the Avalon Suite (the top of the line)–it has a walk-out to the terrace pool deck, which also features some super cool hang spots, too.
Pretending I’m the lead in an Indie film.
Again, the view of the boulevard lights gives me LIFE.
So, now, let’s loop back to South City Kitchen and the Whiskey + Vine program. It’s complicated and beautiful and I cannot pretend to fully understand, but basically, they age bourbon in wine casks and it produces a smooth ass pour with distinct fruity notes and it’s basically worth the visit just for one glass. Am I overselling it? No, I think not. Take a taste and fight me. I dare you.
These strawberry biscuits were gushy, gushy deiliciousness.
For my champs fiends, this is champagne from the ACTUAL Champagne region in France. You’re welcome.
WHEN you stop in the Hotel at Avalon (that’s right–WHEN not if), talk to Lisa. She is super passionate and a super chill chick.
ALSO, very noteworthy here, is the fact that Avalon has an open container policy, so, request a shatterproof glass for your Bourbon Twist and head out to explore!
And, as an aside, addressing my fashion choices for the night, introducing my current absolute favorite accessory–my studded, embroidered and all-around badass leather jacket by BlankNYC from South Moon Under (and it’s on sale for less than $70 right now–eeee)! I love this jacket so much, I think I may name it. Her. Meryl. Her name is Meryl, the badass leather jacket. And I’m not weirdly into fashion at all.
Anyway, I cannot stress enough how much you should definitely visit the Hotel at Avalon for yourself. Chelsea out.

Also, a couple of questions:
Are you going to visit The Hotel at Avalon? The correct answer is YES, btw, but I want to hear from you still ;)
AAAAND, have you ever loved an item of clothing so much that you named it? If so, I definitely want to know so that I know I am not crazy.
