Poolside parties are all the rage in the heat of summer (literal heat and figurative heat), so here’s a little word on styling.
As an aside, I believe nothing should be called a pool party unless you are wearing a bikini and getting IN the pool. That being said, trendy party-throwers seem to believe that poolSIDE parties qualify as pool parties, so, whatever. Here’s styling for that.
I absolutely love this little red sundress from ASOS. Wait, let me back that up. I love ASOS. ASOS is THE BOMB. They have a selection of every style (all on trend) and at every price point. The coolest thing–they have their own version of prime, which is $19 for UNLIMITED, 2 day shipping for a whole year. A WHOLE YEAR, y’all. So, yes, I am going broke now. But my closet is fabulous.
Need more reason to shop at ASOS? Well, here you go: sign up for Ebates HERE and you can get 2.5% cashback at ASOS. You. Are. Welcome.
And YES, guys, they have men’s clothing, too!
Anywayyyyy, this red sundress is a light, breathable fabric (ie, perfect for summer in the South), and the little ruffle trim and cut-outs are killer, adding a unique flair to the solid color mini red sundress.
Because the red sundress is a solid and only has the front knot, ruffle, and cut-outs in terms of busy-ness, I added a body chain to spice things up–taking the look from simple summer to fashion-forward, just like that. I will say, metal’s not the greatest thing to wear in the high heat of summer, soooo, maybe sunset pool parties and cocktail events only? ;)
An oversized floppy straw hat makes EVERYTHING cuter and more memorable. I repeat, everything. Like, sweatpants and tank top–add a straw hat. Probably.
The sandals are so last season, and by last season, I mean I bought them from JustFab like three years ago. But I did find you some comparable styles at two price points, which I linked to below!
